Media rotations

Publish a series of media automatically, at the pace you choose.

A rotation publishes media on its own, taken from a selection you prepare, at the pace you set, then removes them after the time you choose. It keeps an account alive without planning everything by hand. Rotations are in the Rotations tab of Content › Publish, for the creator picked on the left.

How it works

A rotation brings together three things:

  • a set of media, up to 25, taken from the creator's Cloud;

  • a pace: a number of stories or posts per day, within a time window, on some days of the week;

  • a time online, after which each publication is removed.

Fansquare spreads the sends evenly across the time window and picks the media for each send, at random or in order. The sends appear in the Publish calendar, grouped by day (see Publish posts and stories).

Create a rotation

  1. 1

    Open the editor

    In the Rotations tab, click New rotation. Give it a name, or let AI suggest one with Generate.

  2. 2

    Choose the media

    Add opens the creator's Cloud. A story rotation only accepts photos; a post rotation also accepts videos. Drag the thumbnails to change their order.

  3. 3

    Set the pace

    Choose the Content type, then the number of Stories per day or Posts per day, from 1 to 12, and 5 at most for public posts. Stays online sets how long each publication lasts: 24 h at most for a story; for a post, Delete after or Make private after a number of hours. The Hours are All day or a Time window, and Days limits the rotation to certain days.

  4. 4

    Start

    Set the Order (Random or In order) and the First send (Now or From the chosen day). For a story, tick its Audiences; for a post, its Visibility and its Caption. Then click Start.

The footer of the editor sums up the settings: the time between two sends, the time online and the number of days for a full pass through the media.

For post captions, choose Same caption for all or One caption per media, written with the pencil on each thumbnail. Generate writes them from the captions already published on the account.

The same photo is never online twice at the same time. If the pace and the time online need more media than you have chosen, the editor tells you how many are needed.

How it runs

The sends for the coming week appear in the calendar like other publications. Beyond that, they show dotted. Clicking a day's label lists its sends, with Skip this send and View rotation.

Each publication is removed, or made private, once its time online has passed. MYM's limit of 5 public posts per day also applies: an extra post is skipped, without counting as a failure.

Never republish a photo

Stop once every photo has been published is on by default. At publish time, Fansquare checks the MYM account: if the planned photo is already there, as a public or private post or as a story still visible, it takes the next one. When none is left, the rotation stops with Stopped: no photo left to publish, and the agency owner receives an email. To restart it, remove old posts from the account and then resume the rotation.

When it is off, the rotation runs endlessly and can republish a photo already on the account.

A photo made private stays on the feed: it counts as already published and does not go out again.

Follow and edit

For each rotation, the list shows its summary, its Media, the Next send, the number of publications Online and the Status, Active or Paused. The switch pauses or resumes it. After three failures in a row, Fansquare pauses it and says so (Paused after several failures).

  • Editing a rotation recalculates its upcoming sends; those already published do not move.

  • Deleting it cancels its upcoming sends; those already published stay online.

Without the Manage rotations right, you can read the list without changing anything (see Team and roles).
