Getting started
Fansquare on your phone
Install Fansquare on the home screen of an iPhone or an Android phone, and get notifications even when the app is closed.
Fansquare works on a phone, in the browser, at app.fansquare.so. Once added to the home screen, it opens full screen like an app, without going through the App Store or the Play Store, and it receives notifications: your creators' messages, sales and subscribers, even when it is closed.
On iPhone, notifications only reach the app added to the home screen, never Safari or Chrome: this is an Apple rule. It needs iOS 16.4 or later. On Android, Chrome is enough.
Install the app
- 1
Open Fansquare in the browser
On the phone, open app.fansquare.so and sign in. On your first visit, the Install Fansquare on this phone window shows the steps for your browser.
- 2
Add Fansquare to the home screen
On iPhone, the Share button depends on the browser:
Safari: tap Share in the Safari toolbar;
Chrome: tap Share, on the right of the address bar;
another browser: open its menu, then tap Share.
Then choose “Add to Home Screen” in the list, and Add.
On Android, tap Install the app in the window. If the button is not there, open the browser menu, top right, and choose “Install app”.
- 3
Open the app from the home screen
The Fansquare icon appears on the home screen. Open Fansquare from this icon from now on, not from the browser, and sign in if the app asks you to.
Continue in the browser closes the window: it comes back in 30 days. You can install the app before then with the same steps.
Turn on notifications
- 1
Accept the window
The first time you open the installed app, the Get notifications on this phone window opens. Tap Turn on notifications, then allow notifications when the phone asks.
- 2
Send a test
In Settings › Notifications, Channels section, the Notifications on this phone line is on. Send a test delivers a test notification within a few seconds.
Later closes the window, which comes back in 7 days. The Notifications on this phone line turns notifications on or off at any time, for this phone only: your other devices keep their own setting.
What you receive
The phone receives three events, for the creators you have access to:
| Event | What the notification says |
|---|---|
| New message | The creator's name, then the fan's username and their full message. A conversation has a single notification, replaced by the next one, which counts the new messages. |
| New sale | The creator's name, the amount and the fan. |
| New subscriber | The creator's name and the fan. |
Tapping a notification opens the fan's conversation, or the messaging for a notification that groups several.
The phone follows your Settings › Notifications (see Notifications): the events checked in Simple mode, the rules of Advanced mode, the muted creators. A rule that shows the pop-up also makes the phone ring. Online fans never reach the phone.
When the phone stays silent
The phone does not duplicate the app you are looking at. It stays silent:
while Fansquare is open on screen, on the phone or on a computer: alerts show there as pop-ups;
while you use Fansquare on another device, the desktop app or another browser: the phone rings again about five minutes after your last action on that device;
for a reply to the fan, sent from Fansquare or from MYM: it does not ring, and the conversation's new message count starts over.
A conversation makes the phone ring at most once a minute. When more alerts than your Aggregation threshold (Aggregation section, 5 by default) arrive within a minute, a single notification counts them.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Add Fansquare to your home screen to receive notifications” | The app is open in the browser: install it, then open it from the home screen icon. |
| On iPhone, no Notifications on this phone line | The iPhone runs a version older than iOS 16.4: update it. |
| “Notifications are blocked for Fansquare” | Allow them in your phone settings, under Notifications, on the Fansquare line, then come back to the app. |
| “No subscribed device received it” after a test | Turn Notifications on this phone off and on again, then send another test. |
| “This device already gets notifications for another account” | A phone receives notifications for a single Fansquare account. Try again to subscribe it to the signed-in account. |
| Nothing arrives since you signed out | Signing out stops notifications on this phone. They resume when you sign back in to the same account in the app. |
