Messaging
Notifications
Get alerted to messages, sales and subscriptions, and choose what interrupts you.
Fansquare alerts you live when a fan writes, buys or subscribes, and when an important fan comes online. Alerts show as pop-ups in the app and are listed in each creator's panel. Everything is set in Settings › Notifications.
Pop-ups
A pop-up appears in a corner of the screen, bottom right by default, and disappears after five seconds. It names the creator and the fan, with what is known about them: their tag, the amount they have spent, the start of their message. Clicking the pop-up opens the conversation.
Four events alert you:
New message;
Online fans, when a fan comes back online after at least three hours away;
New subscriber;
New sale, for a purchase or a tip.
When many alerts arrive at once, a single pop-up groups and counts them. A new message in the conversation you are looking at does not trigger a pop-up.
A creator's panel
In messaging, the Notifications icon in the list header opens the alerts of the selected creator, with a dot when there are new ones. The All, Purchases, Subscribers and Messages tabs sort them, and Mark all as read clears them.
Under a fan's last message, the Quick reply field and the Reply button send a reply without opening the conversation. They disappear if someone has already replied, and require the Send messages right. Online fans only show as pop-ups.
The panel follows the current session: the list fills while the app is open and starts empty at the next launch. The bell at the top of the sidebar shows Fansquare announcements, such as planned maintenance, not your creators' alerts.
Set up notifications
Settings › Notifications is open to all roles. Your settings follow you on every computer, for the agency you are logged into. Simple mode is on by default; Advanced mode replaces it with rules. In both modes, Pop-up position picks the corner of the screen.
In Simple mode, the settings come in this order:
| Section | What it sets |
|---|---|
| General | Turns all notifications off or back on. |
| Events | The events that alert you, and the sound of each one. |
| Channels | Pop-up and Sound, with Play sample sound. The sound only plays if pop-ups are on. |
| Context | Silence on messaging page for new messages, Silence when app is not focused. |
| Aggregation | The number of alerts close together, from 1 to 20, beyond which a single pop-up groups them. 5 by default. |
| Creators | Mutes a creator's notifications: no pop-up and no line in her panel. This also applies in Advanced mode. |
Online fans is off by default. When your agency follows many active fans, these alerts are limited to the biggest spenders, from the top 25% to the top 5%, and a warning icon next to the event shows it.
Advanced mode
Advanced mode replaces the settings with a list of rules. Add a rule creates one: a name, conditions that must all be true, and what happens, among Show pop-up, Play sound and Increment badge.
Conditions cover the event type, the page you are on, the creator, the amount, the fan's tag, their rank among the biggest spenders, assignment to you and the time.
Rules are read by priority, from top to bottom. The first one that matches wins.
An alert that no rule picks up is silent: with no active rule, you receive nothing.
