Messaging

Translation and dictation

Read fans in your language, reply in theirs, and dictate your messages.

Messaging translates fans' messages, translates your replies into their language and transcribes what you say into the microphone. These tools use AI and draw on the agency's AI quota. The basics are in First steps in messaging.

Read translated messages

The Translation language for incoming messages button, at the top of messaging, picks the language messages are shown in, under Translate to: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian or Portuguese. By default, it is set to Do not translate.

  • It is a single setting for all of messaging, kept on this computer. The multi-window has the same button.

  • A translated message carries a small translation icon. On hover, it shows Translated from the original language and the original text.

  • Reading translations does not require the Use AI right.

Reply in the fan's language

Click Enable send translation in the reply field. A second field opens below, in the fan's language.

  1. 1

    Write in your language

Write in the first field: the translation shows in the second one as you type.

  2. 2

    Review

You can edit the second field by hand, and it is the one that goes out. Change translation language picks a language other than the one detected for the fan, marked Fan language.

  3. 3

    Send

    Click Send translated message.

The translated field and its language are kept for each conversation, on this computer. Close translation goes back to the single field. This tool requires the Use AI right.

Translate a draft

The AI assistance button in the reply field also translates what you have written: Translate to followed by the fan's language, or Translate to… to pick another one. The Option or Alt + T shortcut translates into the fan's language. The same menu offers Rephrase, Correct and More lovely.

Dictate a message

Click the field's microphone, Dictate a message, and speak. A strip shows the elapsed time, one minute at most. Stop and transcribe stops the recording and writes the text into the field, which you review before sending.

The language is detected automatically, and the text stays in the spoken language. Three settings are in Settings › General, Dictation section:

SettingEffect
Dictation keyA key to start dictation, then transcribe. By default Right Command on Mac, Right Ctrl on PC. Escape cancels.
Feminine agreementRewrites the dictated text in the feminine form, when you speak on behalf of the creator. French only.
PunctuationWhen off, the dictated text stays in lowercase and without punctuation.

The AI quota

All of the agency's AI features draw on the same quota, counted over a rolling 24 hours: translation of incoming messages, send translation, writing assistance and dictation. Each role can also have a Monthly token cap, reset on the 1st of the month. The owner has none.

  • When the agency's quota is reached, an Agency AI quota reached alert shows. AI features come back over the following 24 hours, and incoming messages stay in their original language in the meantime.

  • When your role's cap is reached, the alert says Your role's AI cap is reached.

  • Settings › AI usage shows what has been used. Everyone can open it. The owner sees the agency and each employee there; others see their own usage, the agency's quota and their cap.

To increase the agency's quota, the alert offers Contact support.
